Aanya drove in from DLF Phase 4 for every one of six fittings and never once resented the trip. Fabric & craft

Base: maroon raw silk (Bhagalpur), pre-washed twice to soften the hand.
Embroidery: dabka + gota patti border, hand-couched. Restrained across the skirt panels — heaviest at the hem.
Dupatta: 2.2m matching raw silk with corner motifs, no full-length embroidery — kept it light on the head.
Blouse: fully lined in cotton mulmul (sensitive skin), princess seams, hidden bra-strap loops.
Hem: hand-finished, no exposed machine stitches on the visible edge.

Fitting notes

Blouse back fit was the entire brief. Three cuts before final; final fit sits flush with no pulling at the shoulder blade.
Skirt tested for swing on marble and carpet — hem weight adjusted so the lehenga moved the way she wanted at the reception.
Waist tape hidden inside a boned inner belt — no visible line under the blouse.
Delivered with a matching mulmul lining pouch for travel; the lehenga was flown to a Delhi banquet on the wedding morning.
