Eight Cost Drivers Behind Every Bridal Lehenga Quote

A bridal lehenga price is never one number — it is the sum of eight decisions. Understanding them lets you compare two quotes fairly and specify what actually matters to you.

    1. Base fabric. Pure Banarasi silk, raw silk, silk velvet, French chantilly, and hand-loomed tissue sit at different price points — and behave differently on the body. Ask which mill the silk is from and whether it is pure or blended.
    2. Handwork vs machine embroidery. Hand zardozi and dabka are quoted in karigar-hours; machine embroidery in metres. The same "heavy" surface can represent 300 hours or 3,000. Ask for a hand-to-machine split.
    3. Silhouette & panelling. A 12-kali A-line, a 24-kali flared skirt, and a mermaid trail are three different pattern jobs. More panels means more drafting, more embroidery placement, more finishing.
    4. Lining, canvas & internal structure. A well-built bridal skirt has canvas at the waistband, cotton lining for breathability, and often horsehair braid at the hem. A blouse should have fused canvas, boning and a padded shelf. Structure adds real cost.
    5. Blouse & dupatta complexity. A padded corset blouse with hand-worked back panels is a garment in itself. A second embroidered dupatta for the pallu drape adds fabric, embroidery and finishing hours. Confirm what is quoted.
    6. Customisation. Family motifs, name embroidery, monogrammed labels, contrast latkans, custom colour dyeing — each is a small line item that adds up on a bespoke commission.
    7. Fittings & alterations. Ask how many fittings are included, who supervises them, and what happens if your measurements change closer to the wedding. Included alteration scope is often the difference between an "under-budget" and "over-budget" quote.
    8. Urgency. A wedding six months out costs less to plan than one twelve weeks out. Peak wedding season (October–February) queues fill early — plan around them.

The same framework applies to any Delhi bespoke atelier — not only Le Wraps.

Comparing Two Quotes — What a Consultation Should Clarify

Two ateliers can quote very different numbers for what looks like the same lehenga. Before you decide, walk each quote through the same ten questions.

    • Is the pattern drafted from my body, or scaled from a stock block?
    • What weight of silk and which mill?
    • How many karigar-hours of hand embroidery are included?
    • What lining, canvas and structure is built in?
    • How many kalis in the skirt, and what is the hem width?
    • What is included on the blouse — corset, boning, padded shelf?
    • One dupatta or two — and how are they finished?
    • How many fittings are included and who supervises them?
    • What counts as an included alteration vs a chargeable one?
    • What is the payment schedule and what triggers each milestone?

    Bridal Pricing — FAQ

What is the average price of a bridal lehenga in Delhi?

The average bespoke bridal lehenga in Delhi costs ₹1,50,000–₹3,50,000 in 2026. Pre-wedding lehengas (engagement, mehendi) start from ₹50,000. Heirloom couture starts at ₹3,50,000 and can go up to ₹15,00,000+ depending on fabric, embroidery and karigar tier. Le Wraps offers all five tiers transparently.

Can I get a designer bridal lehenga under ₹1 lakh in Delhi?

Yes. Pre-wedding lehengas for engagement, mehendi or sangeet start at ₹50,000–₹85,000 with light hand-embroidery and premium chinon or georgette base. Below ₹50,000 you typically move into ready-to-wear or rental territory.

Why does a bridal lehenga cost ₹5 lakh or more?

At ₹5L+ a lehenga uses 100% hand-zardozi embroidery (1,500–4,000 hours of karigar work), pure tissue or hand-loomed Banarasi silk, real silver dabka or kundan, and 5–7 fittings supervised by the senior designer. The price reflects materials and labour, not brand premium.

Is there a separate price for blouse, dupatta and lining?

No. At Le Wraps every quoted bridal price includes the lehenga skirt, custom blouse, primary dupatta, all linings, fittings, hand-finishing and heirloom packaging. Extra dupattas, second blouses or matching potlis are quoted separately.

Do you offer staged payment plans for bridal lehengas?

Yes. Standard schedule: 40% on commission confirmation, 40% at first major fitting, 20% at final delivery. Bank EMI through major Indian credit cards is available. International wires in USD/GBP/CAD/AED are accepted for NRI brides.

How does Delhi bridal lehenga pricing compare to Mumbai or Bangalore?

Delhi bespoke bridal pricing is broadly comparable to Mumbai for equivalent craftsmanship — Mumbai labels often carry slightly higher overheads. Bangalore and Hyderabad ateliers are typically 10–20% lower for similar tiers but have a smaller pool of bridal-zardozi karigars. Direct atelier purchase in Delhi delivers the best value-to-craft ratio.
