Riya walked into C-58 after four disappointing showroom visits across South Delhi. She wanted an heirloom, not a trend piece — something her daughter could one day open a trunk and understand. Fabric & craft

Base: soft rose Banarasi katan silk (double-shot warp for depth in low light).
Embroidery: hand zardozi with real gold karam, dabka, and glass sitara — no synthetic thread on the primary panels.
Border: 6-inch scalloped edge, hand-couched, mirror-matched on skirt and dupatta.
Dupatta: 2.5m tissue silk with matching zardozi border, pre-pleated fall for the head-drape.
Blouse: fully lined in cotton mulmul (bride has sensitive skin), hidden side zip, structured back seam.

Fitting notes

Three blouse-fit muslins cut before touching the final silk.
Skirt weight distributed across a bespoke can-can layer — heavier at the hem, lighter at the waist.
Waist tape sewn to sit ½ inch above the natural waist to elongate her frame.
Blouse back scoop redrawn twice — final drop calibrated to be modest during the ceremony but visible in reception photos.
